Kona Night Mantas

by Randall Benton
Underwater photographer Doug Perrine, foreground, photographs large pacific manta rays at night in Kona, Hawaii. The bright lights in the background attract krill which, in turn, attract the mantas which feed on them. This popular night dive draws dozens of divers each night, and sometimes as many as thirty graceful mantas.
